Safe transport and lower costs

Unbroken refrigeration chains require full control. In addition, greater environmental awareness has moved consumption and emission issues higher up the agenda for customers. To be more efficient and cut costs, Kyl- och Frysexpressen invested in a new transport management system where Co-Driver onboard from Vehco, is an important part. The company currently has around 70 refrigeration and freezer trucks, all equipped with Co-Driver and one of the objectives is to cut fuel consumption by 10 per cent in just a few months.

Kyl- och Frysexpressen now gets detailed statistics about fuel consumption from vehicles that drive between 50,000 and 200,000 kms per year. The figures are then used to take the necessary measures and cut fuel costs. The information can be transferred to the hauliers’ administration systems and simplify order handling. Transport managers now have full control of where the trucks are via vehicle positioning, and drivers’ time reports are now easier. This has made administration simpler and more efficient, from salary reports to waybills.

Kyl- och Frysexpressen’s customers place clear demands on delivery quality and environmental performance. Vehco’s Co-Driver allows them to provide emission reports to customers who request them.

Kyl- och Frysexpressen Mälardalen AB, has over 90 of its own vehicles. The company’s business is run from the company’s own industrial property, Lastkajen 4. This is a modern loading terminal for refrigerated and frozen foods at the Årsta terminal area in Stockholm.
