Cut fuel costs and drive more eco-friendlier

With an average of 100,000 kms per vehicle per year there is plenty of scope to save money by eco-driving. Vehco’s Co-Driver and Fuel consumption monitoring with support for Eco-driving services help EA Åkeri to cut fuel consumption. The aim is an average drop of between 6-12 per cent of the annual fuel consumption, i.e. what Vehco’s customers usually achieve.

This is how it works: The Co-Driver’s PDA is connected to the vehicles’ Can-bus giving access to the vehicles’ systems and constantly displaying three parameters on the computer’s screen. The driver can see how much he has exceeded speed limits, how much idling has occurred and how well he uses the vehicle’s kinetic energy, or Eco-driving.

“The results of every driver’s fuel consumption are reported monthly and they can check their results against colleagues’ results. I believe we can really cut fuel consumption with the help of Vehco’s Co-Driver PDA and motivated drivers,” says Stefan Nyman, CEO of EA Åkeri. “EA Åkeri’s plans for the future include introducing digital orders thus eliminating the need for waybills, and Co-Driver is already in place to do that.”
