Transab chooses Vehco
The truck central in Jönköping called Transab has chosen to buy 150 units of Vehcos mobile system the Co-Driver. The purpose is to make the administration more efficient, using less paper work, fewer phone calls and a much quicker way of invoicing.
Digital management of orders
Through integration between Transab’s transport artery system and the vehicle computers, one can fast and easily put a task from a customer into the system, chose appropriate car
and send the order. In the car the chauffer receives all information necessary to go through with the mission. The chauffer updates his or her status while the mission is carried out. After the mission is finished the chauffer will receive a digital signature from the customer and everything is set. The marked order is directly sent to the office for invoicing. In this way, Transab will be able to cut all manually paper work meanwhile the time spent on invoicing will be heavily reduced.
- During several years we have worked with evaluating different mobile systems and chosen to test different suppliers. After technical and economical evaluation we finally chose Vehco as our supplier. The educational work and the implementation was started in January and will be finished before the summer 2010, Fredrik Wånhede at Transab tells us.
Other functions that Transab will use the Co-Driver for is positioning, tracking, navigation
and instant messaging. The instant messaging service is working through the transport management, which chooses one specific vehicle that will get a question together with a number of predefined answers. The chauffer will then be able to simply choose the correct answer with a single push on a button. This will reduce the time spent on the phone the chauffeurs and the transport management otherwise are forced to.
The environmental impact is followed up
An additional functionality Transab has chosen is fuel follow
up and emission reports on LBC-level. This means that Transab, on the request from the customer, will be able to check how much fuel a certain mission have used. They will also be able to receive emission reports concerning nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxides, particles and carbon dioxides that have been released after each mission.
- The competition in the transport business is tough and the customers, sometimes has demands on having this kind of equipment. Thanks to the Co-Driver we will now be able to, in an easy way, show that we meet all demands put to keep the cutting edge Fredrik Wånhede at Transab says.
Transab started over 40 years ago and is today a complete partner within transportation and entrepreneur services. Having 65 associates and 350 units divided on trucks ans machienes, Transab today manage four areas of business; Logistics, Construction, Facility, Contracting and Recycling.
