Saved one half time post
The vehicle computer Co-Driver was installed in 25 trucks at Kaj Johansson’s firm of haulage in Vännäs in february 2009. Through integration between the Co-Driver and Kaj Johansson’s transport system the order information can be dealt with digitally. Stefan Johansson, financial manager at Kaj Johansson’s firm of haulage, never thought that they could make the working hours for both order management and the invoicing that efficient.
-Before the installation of vehicle computers in the trucks the orders were sent to the trucks by phone or by consignment notes which the chauffeurs got in the morning before they started to drive. Back then this required a lot of time, gathering all information necessary before being able to start the invoicing for the exercised work. You were not able to be 100% sure of that the work was invoiced in the correct way. Only a few months after having the Co-Driver installed it feels like we have saved working time for one half time post, Stefan Johansson at Kaj Johansson’s haulage firm tells us.
All cars
All cars of the company are practised within three main areas of business, haulage, facility and sanitation. At the beginning all the trucks will get the Co-Driver installed, but in time the goal is to also have it installed in all machines in the facility part as well.
Except the ordering function in Vehco’s Co-Driver Kaj Johansson’s firm of haulage also chose the services fuel follow-up, economic driving and positioning and tracking. Using fuel follow-up they now have much better control over fuel used. The service economic driving has given the chauffeurs support to drive more economically and already, some months after the installation, they have noticed reduced fuel consumption at the company.
Since the drivers at Kaj Johansson’s firm of haulage are comparative young, there were only positive responses from the first day and forward. First they asked themselves if they would have any use for the services positioning and tracking. However, thanks to the tracking function they now have better control over, for instance, how many loads of gravel have been delivered. It works in the way that you are possible to look back in time to see how many times the truck have been picking up and left loads.
-The reason to why we chose to install Vehcos vehicle computer Co-Driver is that it is very easy user-friendly product to use. It is an It-platform which is totally correct for us, says Stefan Johansson.
-We will develop together with the Co-Driver to make the infrastructure more efficient. This fall we will also star to work with the service working hours reporting, then we will integrate it with our salary management system to make salary management more efficient and get rid of all paper exercise concerning salary management, Stefan Johansson tells us.
Kaj Johansson’s firm of haulage is a family company which now have reached the third generation’s company workers. The business is has thee main areas of business, haulage, facility, and sanitation. Of course traditional haulage activity is one of the company’s business. The company covers approximately 25 trucks and approximately 35 facility machines like road planers, wheel loaders, dumpers, rollers and excavators. Today the company has well over 80 employees.
