The co operation organisation called Netlink, where the eight truck centrals in Mälardalen, the midst Sweden, are included, have carried out a procurement concerning IT-support for the largest companies of the group. Netlink is the in common name of the organisation which has the function to inspect and improve the companies’ quality, environmental adjustments, road safety and infrastructure.
During seven months time, Netlink has reviewed the market for vehicle computers to find the best system and provider. The choice was the Gothenburg company Vehco and the vehicle computer Co-Driver.
The company disposes over 1200 vehicles in total. The cooperation with Vehco, to a beginning, covers 150 trucks, but the goal is that all remaining vehicles which need to be transportation led will be supplied with mobile computers. The reason for this investment is to lose all freight bills and send all order information digitally with the vehicle computers. Another service that will be used is the digital signature, which means that the customers can sign the orders directly on the screen of the hand held computer when the work had been done. The signed order is then sent back to the office and is ready for invoicing.
Other functions that the Co-Driver will be used for by the companies is positioning and tracking of vehicles. This will ease the planning of the transportation between the companies. Fuel follow-up and economical driving will be used to give the drivers support to drive more economically. Emission reports will also be used so that the companies can follow up their transports environmental impact.
-The cooperation with Vehco means that the companies that are included in Netlink will continue to be in the leading edge with modern and efficient transport solutions. It will also strengthen the quality, the road safety and the environment policy of the companies included, Tony Ericsson, Chief Executive at Netlink tells us.
