Connected with vehicle computers in all trucks

Teaser:

The 24th of May 2008, the truck central, Eslöv-Hörby, installed Vehco’s hand held computers Co-Driver. The 28th of Mars 2009 all of the fleet’s 135 trucks had the Co-Driver installed.

The reason for the truck central Eslöv-Hörby to invest in hand held computers is that it is the right time to do so. Since the business is being more and more digitalized it is important to keep up to be able to keep the leading edge as a competitive company.

The effects created are reduced work for the transport leaders since they no longer have to call about the order information and they can solve the planning of the routes easier, thanks to the positioning of the vehicles. Other aspects being more efficient are the reduced time regarding: digital signing by the customer, time spent after the orders carried out and the invoicing. But it is also about making the business day easier for the personnel.

-We look upon the Co-Driver as a tool which both chauffeurs and administrative personnel can use to ease their working tasks, Andreas Persson, transport manager at LBC Eslöv-Hörby, tells us.

The customers have started request mobile communication in the vehicles. In negotiations with new customers it has started to be more common with inquiries about vehicle computers.

-I think it might be a demand from certain customers that you have digitalized environments in the company. Therefore it is essential that we now have Co-Driver installed in our trucks to keep existing customers and gain new customers as well, says Andreas Persson, transport manager at LBC Eslöv-Hörby.
