Stefan Johansson, financial manager at Kaj Johansson’s firm of haulage, never thought that they could make the working hours for both order management and the invoicing that efficient.

The vehicle computer Co-Driver was installed in 25 trucks at Kaj Johansson’s firm of haulage in Vännäs in february 2009. Through integration between the Co-Driver and Kaj Johansson’s transport system the order information can be dealt with digitally. “I’d quit if Co-Driver disappeared”

“Drivers confirm, type in the tonnage and send it back. Hey presto – the invoice data is ready!”

Dalafrakt & Logistik AB

Before we had Co-Driver we had a ticket system. We telephoned the orders and made notes on post-it notes. It could take a month, sometimes longer, from the time we telephoned waybill information to a driver to when we got the waybill back and could invoice the customer. Now, by using Co-Driver, the same process takes no more than 10 minutes! I type the orders straight into the system that sends them to the vehicles. The drivers confirm, type in the tonnage and send it back. Hey presto – the invoice data is ready. Telephone calls have fallen by around 75 per cent.

Demanding customers developed LBC

What’s happening, where’s the delivery, how much will it cost? LBC Frakt Värmland’s customers set high demands on transportation. Because LBC Frakt had previously integrated its transport management system with Vehco’s Co-Driver there was a rapid communication path between transport management and drivers.

Reduced fuel consumption – by 1 litre per 10 kms

40 vehicles using Co-Driver. And reduced fuel consumption of 1 litre per 10 kms per vehicle. That’s the result of VH Frakt and K-Sjö Frakt’s five years using Co-Driver in their vehicles. The companies that make up LBC Vårgårda use Co-Driver’s fuel monitoring and support for eco-driving functions. Drivers fill in their hours worked straight into the onboard computer. The information is then sent immediately to the office.

Safe transport and lower costs

Unbroken refrigeration chains require full control. In addition, greater environmental awareness has moved consumption and emission issues higher up the agenda for customers. To be more efficient and cut costs, Kyl- och Frysexpressen invested in a new transport management system where Co-Driver onboard from Vehco, is an important part. The company currently has around 70 refrigeration and freezer trucks, all equipped with Co-Driver and one of the objectives is to cut fuel consumption by 10 per cent in just a few months.

Waybills reported back immediately

100 of Fraktcentralen i Gestrikland AB’s vehicles were fitted with Co-Driver from Vehco.  Waybills are now sent and reported back digitally. The transport manager sends an enquiry to vehicles out in the field. The drivers get an enquiry with several response alternatives. By pressing the hand-held computer’s screen they sign for the order and the transport manager receives the information immediately.

Cut fuel costs and drive more eco-friendlier

Fuel monitoring and eco-driving. EA Åkeri from Skara runs refrigeration and freezer transport for the food industry. With an average of 100,000 kms per vehicle per year there is plenty of scope to save money by eco-driving. Vehco’s Co-Driver and Fuel consumption monitoring with support for Eco-driving services help EA Åkeri to cut fuel consumption. The aim is an average drop of between 6-12 per cent of the annual fuel consumption, i.e. what Vehco’s customers usually achieve.

Reply to waybills by pressing button twice

Digital messages are sent between transport manager and driver at Dalafrakt. Co-Driver from Vehco makes the company’s communications mobile. Dalafrakt’s truck centre installed Vehco’s Co-Driver in 125 trucks and machines in spring 2008. The result was better order handling and less administration. Writing consignment notes and invoices manually is now very rare. The company’s better overview of orders and less administrative work, were also reasons why Dalafrakt invested in Co-Driver from Vehco.
