Recently it was decided that the telemetic company Vehco got the confidence to deliver their system, Co-Driver, concerning vehicle communication to the Company Busslink; one of the largest bus companies in Sweden.

The contract has a total value of 17 million SEK and contains approximately 1500 busses. If the 600 first installations shows a good result the contract will, in time, expand and contain all busses in the company. This makes this order the largest of its kind so far in Sweden. “I’d quit if Co-Driver disappeared”

“Drivers confirm, type in the tonnage and send it back. Hey presto – the invoice data is ready!”

Before we had Co-Driver we had a ticket system. We telephoned the orders and made notes on post-it notes. It could take a month, sometimes longer, from the time we telephoned waybill information to a driver to when we got the waybill back and could invoice the customer. Now, by using Co-Driver, the same process takes no more than 10 minutes! I type the orders straight into the system that sends them to the vehicles. The drivers confirm, type in the tonnage and send it back. Hey presto – the invoice data is ready. Telephone calls have fallen by around 75 per cent.

Demanding customers developed LBC

What’s happening, where’s the delivery, how much will it cost? LBC Frakt Värmland’s customers set high demands on transportation. Because LBC Frakt had previously integrated its transport management system with Vehco’s Co-Driver there was a rapid communication path between transport management and drivers.

Reduced fuel consumption – by 1 litre per 10 kms

40 vehicles using Co-Driver. And reduced fuel consumption of 1 litre per 10 kms per vehicle. That’s the result of VH Frakt and K-Sjö Frakt’s five years using Co-Driver in their vehicles. The companies that make up LBC Vårgårda use Co-Driver’s fuel monitoring and support for eco-driving functions. Drivers fill in their hours worked straight into the onboard computer. The information is then sent immediately to the office.

Safe transport and lower costs

Unbroken refrigeration chains require full control. In addition, greater environmental awareness has moved consumption and emission issues higher up the agenda for customers. To be more efficient and cut costs, Kyl- och Frysexpressen invested in a new transport management system where Co-Driver onboard from Vehco, is an important part. The company currently has around 70 refrigeration and freezer trucks, all equipped with Co-Driver and one of the objectives is to cut fuel consumption by 10 per cent in just a few months.
